Although the TrickleStar® 7-Outlet Multi-Sensing Advanced Power Strip looks like a regular surge protector, there is a big difference. In addition to advanced surge protection, this power strip prevents unnecessary power drain by devices that are plugged in but not in use through the use of “control” and “switched” outlets. As with other advanced power strips (APS), when the device that is plugged into the control outlet is turned off, the devices that are plugged into the switched outlets will also turn off automatically. What makes this different is that when no IR remote control signals (such as those used to control a TV, DVD or surround-sound system) are detected in the area in front of the TV, the internal count timer in this APS will switch off the TV and peripheral devices, delivering additional savings. This helps you save money and energy, without even thinking about it.
IR and Motion Multi-Sensor
The added multi-sensing feature elevates this advanced power strip above the rest, allowing for more energy savings with even less effort. When no infrared (IR) remote control activity is detected, the power strip turns off the TV and any other electronics plugged into the switched outlets.
Flexible Outlet Options
This 7-outlet model offers 2 always-on outlets for devices that you do not want turning off automatically. The always-on devices remain on regardless of IR remote control activity or whether the device on the control outlet is on or off. The remaining outlets consist of 1 control outlet and 4 switched outlets plus the IR remote control sensor. The device in the control outlet must be on to turn on the devices in the switched outlets. When the device in the control outlet turns off, so do the devices in the switched outlets. Save energy and money without trying!
