AEP Energy Reward Store Privacy Notice

Effective Date: August 26th, 2026

AEP Energy is a competitive retail electric generation service supplier and a retail natural gas service provider that is committed to respecting your privacy and ensuring transparency in how we collect, use, and share your personal information. The AEP Energy Reward Store is an online marketplace, available to AEP Energy customers, stocked with energy-efficient and connected home products for your home. This Privacy Notice outlines the types of information we collect through the Reward Store, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.

To avoid any confusion about who is responsible for your information, AEP Energy owns the AEP Energy Reward Store and its website domain (aepenergyrewardstore.com), and the website is operated and hosted on AEP Energy’s behalf by our service provider, Resource Innovations (formerly TechniArt). AEP Energy decides how your personal information is used and is responsible for it under this Privacy Notice, while Resource Innovations may access and process that information only to operate the Reward Store under AEP Energy’s direction. Please direct any privacy questions to AEP Energy using the contact information below.

Personal Information We Collect

We collect personal information, which is any information that can be linked to an identifiable natural person. The categories of personal information we collect include:

  • Identifiers such as name, postal address, email address, phone number, account identifiers, etc. These identifiers include your AEP Energy account number, your shipping address, and the single sign-on (SSO) credentials used to sign in through AEP Energy’s customer portal to authenticate your identity and confirm your eligibility to redeem rewards.
  • Commercial information such as products or services purchased or considered. This includes your rewards point balance and redemptions, and your order, return, and exchange history.
  • Internet network and other electronic network activity information (IP address, device identifiers, log data, analytics, approximate location, and interactions with our websites and emails). We and our analytics providers (for example, Google Analytics) also collect this information to measure and improve the performance of the Reward Store website.
  • Audio information, such as recordings of your calls with the Reward Store customer service team.
  • Payment information used to complete purchases, such as billing details processed by our payment processor when your rewards do not cover the full purchase price.

You have options regarding the personal information you provide. While you may choose not to disclose certain information requested, please be aware that this may impact our ability to offer you relevant products or services, or to enable specific features of the website.

How We Collect Information (Source)

We may collect your personal information:

  • When you activate your Reward Store account, place an order, contact us, or use our websites. We also collect information when you sign in through AEP Energy’s single sign-on, redeem rewards, or contact our customer service team, including calls that may be recorded.
  • Automatically from your browser or device when you access our website (through cookies, pixels, tags, session replay‑ tools, and other logging technologies).

How We Use Personal Information (Purpose)

We use your personal information to:

  • Provide goods and services, maintain and service accounts, process payments, and deliver customer support. We also use your information to authenticate you and validate your eligibility, to apply and update your rewards balance, and to fulfill and ship your orders.
  • Operate, secure, and improve our website, goods and services, and internal operations.
  • Personalize content and offers.
  • Comply with legal requirements.

Categories of Personal Data Disclosed

We disclose personal information for the business purposes described above to:

  • Service providers and contractors that process information on our behalf under written contracts for Reward Store operations, customer support, analytics and advertising, information security, and cloud hosting. Our primary service provider for the Reward Store is Resource Innovations (formerly TechniArt), which operates and hosts the website on AEP Energy’s behalf; we also use service providers for payment processing and for shipping and order fulfillment (such as USPS and UPS). We require these service providers by written contract to protect your personal information, to use it only to provide services to us, and not to sell it or use it for their own purposes.
  • Law enforcement, regulators, and other parties when required or permitted by law, or to protect AEP Energy, our customers, or the public.

Targeted Advertising, Sales, and Sharing

Our Reward Store service providers, including Resource Innovations, are contractually prohibited from selling your personal information or using it for their own advertising or other secondary commercial purposes.
